The Beginning - 1995
Founded by Captain Marco Benedetti, an Italian-Canadian maritime enthusiast, Monferado began with a single restored sailing yacht and a vision to share the beauty of Canada's coastline with fellow ocean lovers. The name "Monferado" comes from Marco's hometown in Italy, representing the bridge between old-world craftsmanship and new-world adventure.
Our first charter took place in the pristine waters of the Gulf Islands, where guests were captivated by the untouched beauty and wildlife encounters that would become our signature experience.
Growth & Recognition - 2005
As word spread about our personalized service and deep knowledge of Canadian waters, Monferado expanded to include three luxury vessels. We earned our first industry recognition from the Canadian Yachting Association for excellence in charter services and environmental stewardship.
This decade marked our commitment to sustainable tourism, implementing practices that would later become industry standards for responsible maritime exploration.
